Interview with Alexandre Vasconcelos, the first author of diving equipment for the armed forces.
In 2016, Alexandre Vasconcelos made history by publishing *Operação Mergulho* (Operation Dive), the first diving book written by a member of the Brazilian Armed Forces. *Operação Mergulho* addresses the origins of military diving in Brazil and combat diving. The work brings together decades of practical experience, research, and teaching, filling a technical gap that existed until then in national doctrine. His journey began under the tutelage of instructor Jone Tilii, from whom he inherited not only technical rigor but also a passion for transforming complex knowledge into something accessible. For Alexandre, diving goes beyond technique: it is science, discipline, and respect for the sea. In this interview, he talks about the challenges of being the first to document this doctrine, the changes he has seen in diver training over the years, and the legacy he hopes to leave for new generations of authors.

The Brazilian Man of Honor
If you've read anywhere that the stuttering character in the film Men of Honor was an apology for a Brazilian, or that the scene of the student being rescued from the bottom of the river, or even that during one of the tests a bag of parts was torn open and thrown into the sea, you are completely mistaken. The film Men of Honor is a work "based" on the life story of Carl Brashear, and just as in real life he didn't find an atomic bomb at the bottom of the sea, many of the scenes in the film served to "represent" the difficulties faced by this man who was a true hero. It so happens that in Brashear's class...
